Top 10 slopes in Baqueira Beret
In more than 30 years skiing in the valley, we have tried the family areas with our kids, explored less crowded runs and ventured onto the most legendary black slopes. Here are our top 10 slopes in Baqueira Beret from the more than 100 runs that make up the ski resort. This list covers different levels, to help make this your favourite winter resort – if it isn’t already! Additionally, if you have the time, the resort offers different special zones that are highly recommended: from the Funpark – perfect if you’re traveling to Baqueira with kids – to the SnowPark – for practicing the best freestyle –, Boardercross, and the Audi Ski Kronos descent – with integrated cameras, so you can share your experience.
OUR Top 10 slopes
Children aged between 2 and 6 can start to learn to ski in a fun way at the Pla de Beret children’s park, located at an altitude of 1860 m. As the little ones learn, adults can try Alpine or cross-country skiing or snowshoeing on the 7 km green piste, which is mainly flat with only slight undulations. If you’re traveling to Baqueira with kids, very close to this slope, you’ll find the Funpark, a nearly 2 km course with different obstacle games, animal reproductions, and even monsters!

The Debutants green piste features a gentle slope that is easy for first-time skiers. Like all the runs at the resort, the green slopes are flagged to ensure safety and bolster skiers’ confidence, so don’t be nervous and give it a go! If you want to work on your technique with a view to moving up to the blue slopes, I can also recommend the Era Coma piste in Baqueira.
– Level: green
– Area: Baqueira
– Ski-lift: TCD Cap del Port
If you’re a little more confident in your abilities, the Argulls blue piste is a great place to keep working on your technique. It is wide, a little steeper than the green slopes but still easy. This and its north-facing orientation, ensuring the best quality snow, make it a truly recommendable run. If you’re looking for some quiet skiing in a stunning setting, this is the piste for you.

Costarjàs is at 2300m. Its south-facing orientation, exceptional snow quality and high-mountain views make this blue piste a must on your trip. It is an easy run, with no changes of gradient, where you can enjoy skiing in a lovely setting.

If you like to do your own thing, then the Blanhiblar blue piste is just what you’re looking for. It is one of the few south-facing slopes where, in addition to enjoying its descent, you can make your debut on the Boardercross circuit, a course full of jumps and elevated curves perfect for family or friends’ races. If you’re into freestyle, another alternative is the Era Marmòta Snowpark – located on the Marmòtes slope. This park features jump lines, boxes, and rails of three different difficulty levels, allowing you to progress across various levels, whether you’re skiing or snowboarding. Our recommendation: make the most of what this area has to offer – the snow is at its best during the first few hours of sunlight!

Dossau has a single descent with a constant gradient typical of red slopes. It is frequented by both skiers and snowboarders, who climb up and descend over and over again. This is hardly surprising, as the views from its altitude of 2500 m are spectacular. When you get to the top on the chairlift, take a few moments to drink in the view before you enjoy the descent. Remember that Dossau is a red piste, so to ski it safely you need to be a medium-to-high level skier.

The Baciver red piste is a bolder option that is perfect for experiences, adventurous skiers. The slope is steep – as much as 40% in some areas – so it guarantees the excitement of faster descents than on other slopes. Baciver has a blend of wide and narrow runs, most of them with no major complications, but you need to be fairly skilled to ski on them.

Lebre is another challenging red piste for skiers, with high-speed descents, changes of gradient and some uneven spots. If you are a medium-to-highly skilled skier on the lookout for new sensations, this legendary, out-of-the-way piste is a must. Conditions are usually perfect early in the day, when the snow is fresh, there aren’t many people about and you can make the most of your time on the snow.

Luis Arias is one of Baqueria Beret’s historic black slopes. It is named after one of the founders of the resort, and will really put your technique and physical strength to the test: it starts out wide but narrows at the spot known as “Arias’ wall”. The slope is steep with surprising, rugged areas. The most difficult part is a particularly steep descent. It faces north/north-east, the side known as “the shadows”. This guarantees top-quality snow all through the winter and into the spring!
– Level: black
– Area: Baqueira
– Ski-lift: TSD Jorge Jordana
La Pala Gran is particularly tough: a black piste for expert skiers only, as its technical difficulty makes it really challenging. The descent features sharp changes of gradient, steep slopes on rough terrain and often narrow runs. It is only for skiers with high levels of precision, control and skill who are looking for an extreme mountain experience. Are you up for it?
